These one-hand simulators are described as types XIV of the Oakeshott typology.
The peculiarities of these swords present from the 13th to the 14th century are: a throat section, wide at the beginning of the blade and pointed at the end. These blades are often a little shorter than these type XII or XVI sisters.
It is a very versatile weapon due to its power and balance which here simplifies its maneuverability.
A type J or K discoidal pommel often team up with this type of sword and it is not uncommon to see a little piece of steel overcome the pommel, where the rivet is.
