Type XII from Lübeck

XIIIth to XIVth century

Blade's length: 86 cm
Overall length: 102 cm
Weight: 1193 gr

POB: 16 cm from crossguard

It is a reproduction of a sword from the Saint Anne Museum in Lübeck, Germany.

This blunt simulator is above all an interpretation cause the original part is cut to the third of the blade, it is the request of a competent and demanding fencing practitioner, these measures follow very precise specifications. Particularity of this sword, its pommel: it was slightly warped compared to the axis of the blade to correspond on one hand to the source and otherwise to large number of archaeological pieces. This "defect" seems to find an explanation in practice, the pommel coming to "stall" with more ease in the right hand grip.
