Type XIIa

End of the XIVth century

Blade's length: 92 cm
Weight: 1600 gr

This two-handed sword was forged from a type XIIa source presented in the book "Records of Medieval Sword" by E.Oakeshott.
This is quite the style of sword that we attribute to the beginnings of two-handed sword fencing. A powerful sword for a reasoned practice of fencing, especially with a sharp blade.
It is a weapon which does not give any right to the error, which requires a constant attention in the study of the gestures transcribed in manuals of masters of arms from these times.
