Type XII from Lübeck

XIIIth century

Blade's length: 84 cm
Overall length: 99.5 cm
Weight: 1248 gr

Designed for the practice of sword/bocle fencing, this sharp type XII sword is an interpretation of the n°2376a sword of the museum Saint Anne of Lübeck in Germany.

The blade is forged in an old steel of the 18th century, whose composition and structure are quite heterogeneous in order to approach the quality of steel that we encountered at the time of the source. The fuller on each side of the blade was hollowed out using a tool to approximate the fuller's appearance on the original sword. The engravings in the fuller were carved by hand and the brass knob poured in the sand at the workshop.
