This piece is distinguished from other type XIV swords that we are used to forging with its crossguard width. The experience in fencing is incomparable, a short and wide blade gives both control and information as soon as the blades touch. Brass pommel and rosette are poured in the sand at the workshop.

Other examples of type XIV as massive in the stub exist as the famous type XIV of the Metropolitan Museum of New York or even the "Christensen" of Copenhagen.
